The event brought together researchers, physicians, educators, audiologists, speech and language therapists, representatives of public organizations, and international experts for a professional discussion on modern approaches to auditory and speech rehabilitation of children with cochlear and auditory brainstem implants, their social and educational integration, and the development of interdisciplinary cooperation among specialists.
During the round table, participants delivered presentations focused on contemporary models of rehabilitation following cochlear implantation, methodological approaches in deaf education, specific features of comprehensive developmental assessment of children with cochlear implants, issues related to education in academic institutions, speech and language therapy support, audiological diagnostics, and technical aspects of sound processor programming. Particular attention was given to the role of the family in the rehabilitation process, international experience in supporting children, and the need to individualize each patient’s care pathway.
As part of the round table, Tetiana Bohdanovych, General Director of the Hearing Rehabilitation Center “AURORA,” presented practical experience in providing comprehensive support for children with cochlear implants and outlined effective approaches to their integration into the modern educational environment.
The round table served as an important platform for exchanging experience, disseminating scientific and practical achievements, and strengthening partnerships among the medical, educational, and civic communities. Participants emphasized the relevance of such events for the development of the auditory and speech rehabilitation system in Ukraine and for improving the quality of support provided to children with hearing impairments.
