Employees of the AURORA Hearing Rehabilitation Center took part in the Ternopil Charity Symposium on Otolaryngology

On August 8–9, 2025, the Ternopil Charitable Symposium on Otolaryngology: “Innovations and Experience” was held in Ternopil at the Ukrainian House ‘Peremoha’ (27 Taras Shevchenko Boulevard), organized by the “LORIMED” Medical Center.

The event brought together leading Ukrainian and international specialists in the field of otolaryngology, audiology, and related fields. Participants discussed the latest methods of diagnosis and treatment of hearing disorders, exchanged experiences, and presented innovative solutions.

The grand opening of the symposium was attended by the director of the Prof. O.S. Kolomiichenko Institute of Otolaryngology of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, academician Dmytro Zabolotny. In his welcoming speech, he emphasized the importance of introducing modern diagnostic technologies and innovative treatment methods, and also noted the significant contribution of participants to the development of the industry.

AURORA Hearing Rehabilitation Center LLC presented modern solutions for hearing diagnostics and rehabilitation at the symposium:

  • Interacoustics and Puma diagnostic equipment;
  • Oticon hearing aids;
  • Cochlear cochlear implants.

Also, during the event, AURORA specialist Vyacheslav Fedoruk, an audiologist, otologist, international trainer in Oticon hearing aid fitting, and expert in the use of objective methods for examining the auditory analyzer, gave a presentation on “The use of broadband tympanometry to assess the condition of the middle ear and in cases of acoustic trauma.”

Main points of the report:

  • Differences and advantages of broadband tympanometry (WBT) compared to traditional methods.
  • The capabilities of WBT in the diagnosis and monitoring of middle ear pathologies (otosclerosis, disarticulation of the ossicles, exudative otitis media in children).
  • Use of WBT in cases of acoustic trauma, tympanic membrane perforations, and ventilation shunts.
  • Features of examining infants in the first months of life and adult patients.
  • Pre- and postoperative monitoring of the auditory analyzer.
  • Technical advantages of WBT: reduced noise impact, optimized frequency range, increased diagnostic accuracy.

The presentation was accompanied by clinical examples, graphs, and demonstrations of examination results, which confirmed the practical significance of WBT in modern audiology.

Participation in such events allows our team to remain at the forefront of professional innovation, expand our expertise, and promote the introduction of advanced technologies in hearing rehabilitation in Ukraine.
